What A Neat Gift

Jul 24, 2024 | Vet-Med Outreach

We received word from a donor that they wanted to buy goats as a celebration of their wedding anniversary. What a Neat Gift.

Dr., Suresh has written an outstanding report on the delivery of this gift.

“Mr. Randas is from the Paradhi Tribe. A 55 years man and widower. He was a very good bird catcher but, nowadays he is not able to see properly and also the government has banned bird catching, but also no job since Covid situation. Therefore, his condition is miserable. Because his children are settled with their own families and are not very much interested in taking care of him. I want to give him another chance to earn a respectful living.

He has very humble home. He wanted to make me tea in his kitchen.

Since goats reached at his place I was heartily trying to read the face of Mr. Randas but I failed every time. I want to notice the reaction of his face. I felt uneasy watching him clueless. I thought, ‘did I gave this project to a wrong person?’ But when we finished giving and tying of goats process he was coming out of his hut and finally I noticed sweet smile on his face which really gave me satisfactory joy.

He very proudly share me that some people from another country have his picture with his bird catching net. I remember you both took his picture long back ago. (I couldn’t find the picture we took, but here is the sketch I drew of the event. It is in my book THEY CALL HIM SIR. He is from the same village as Vasentha.

Randas was very needy and surely this project will change his life. These two goats will give him meaning of life and lots of work to do.

He was telling me about the importance and need of vaccination and assured him about that and yesterday when I gave first dose of vaccination, then he felt very satisfied.
