Christmas 2024
Join us in transforming lives through our schools and veterinary ministry in India! We’re seeking warm sweaters for our students and a much-needed screen for our auditorium. We also aim to continue our tradition of providing goats and chickens to families in need and bless a village with a keyboard. Your support and prayers for Prakash and our mission continue to be greatly appreciated!
Village Keyboard - $175
In a recent journal from Sylvia, Dr. Suresh wrote about the chief of Vasantha’s village learning how to play the keyboard in an effort to play for the children of the village while they sing. A purchase of a keyboard would encourage unity within the children and allow them to lean the discipline of being together which is rare in a culture that encourages individuality.
Sweaters - $20
A gift of a sweater provides warmth to each student in the cooler months at Prakash Institutes. The sweaters have been purchased at the local seasonally opened Tibetan market from the same family for 18 years! It is a blessing to visit and bless this small business owner each year.
Pair of Goats - $350
The simple gift of goats has been a blessing to our Vet Med mission for quite some time. Recently Dr. Suresh spoke with Mr. Dalit who was a recipient of two goats in 2019. Through the success of his goats, he has opened a successful internet cafe that is now thriving. This cafe not only generates income for him but also serves the community, providing jobs for two local youths. Witnessing the remarkable changes in Dalit’s village from his improved home to a cleaner environment fills us with gratitude. Together, we can contineu to make a difference and glorify the Lord through blessed lives such as Mr. Dalit!
Chickens - $215
As a result of our 2023 Christmas giving, we provided Mrs. Madhuri with 10 mature hens and 2 roosters. During Dr. Suresh’s recent visit to the family’s village he was overwhelmed with joy to see how these chickens have changed their lives. The daily sale of eggs enabled Madhuri and her husband to launch broom-making business. In just one month, they sold 500 brooms at 50 Rupees each, bringing them both income and happiness.
In Indian households, the broom, or “Jhadu,” is a sacred utility. Made with broom grass found primarily in hilly areas of India, it’s often the first item a woman picks up at daw to clean the courtyard and porch. Associated with the Goddess of Wealth, the broom holds cultural significance and represents cleanliness and prosperity in rural India.
They are deeply grateful. Praise God for this incredible progress!
Auditorium Screen - $10,000
The schools are in need of a screen for the auditorium. The current screen is a pull up temporary small screen that’s easily visible by students sitting only on one side of the auditorium and has few capabilities. The new digital tile permanent screen would be 6’x16′ allowing for it to be visible to all students. This will be used for all sorts of events as well as used by teacher as a daily teaching tool.
